Why Hybrid Still Isn’t Working: Rethinking the Office with Ranya Nehmeh
Monday May 11, 2026

How Leaders Can Fix Hybrid Before It Breaks Your Culture
with Ranya Nehmeh
Hybrid work was supposed to be the silver bullet. Instead, it turned into a rubber band—stretching teams thin, snapping collaboration, and leaving leaders holding the pieces. While organizations rushed into “flexibility,” they forgot to redesign the one thing holding their culture together: the office.
🛎 In this episode of Marc Haine Live, we sit down with Senior HR Strategist, author, and future-of-work powerhouse Ranya Nehmeh, whose newest book In Praise of the Office argues that the workplace isn’t dead—it’s just misunderstood.
Ranya breaks down:
• Why hybrid work still isn’t working (and no, it’s not because people “don’t want to come in”)
• Why engagement is dropping even as flexibility rises
• How the office—used intentionally—becomes the home base for trust, collaboration, and culture
• The leadership blind spot that’s costing companies connection, creativity, and performance
• The future of work models that actually support belonging
You’ll walk away with practical tools to design a hybrid system that WORKS—one based on trust, purpose, and human connection rather than attendance tracking and hope.
If you’re a leader struggling with disengaged teams… or wondering why your hybrid policy is producing meh results… this episode hands you clarity on a silver platter.

Command, Communicate, Carry Out: The Crisis Leadership Formula
with Patrick Hardy
What happens when disaster strikes your business?
Flood. Cyberattack. System failure. Security threat.
Most organizations believe they’re prepared because they have a disaster plan. But when a real emergency happens, something unexpected occurs: people freeze.
This phenomenon—known as the bystander effect—can paralyze organizations at the exact moment decisive action is needed.
In this episode of Marc Haine Live, Marc sits down with Disaster Patrick, a crisis response expert known for stress-testing disaster programs in extreme environments.
Patrick shares how leaders can replace outdated disaster plans with something far more effective: an Elite Crisis Team mindset.
About Patrick
Disaster Patrick isn’t your ordinary disaster professional; he stress-tests disaster programs them in the most extreme environments on earth. From performing 28 hours of non-stop CPR to testing engineering limits of Lego Structures in 200-mile-per-hour wind tunnels, he’s the mastermind behind the C3 Method: Command, Communicate, and Carry Out. How to Become Ridiculously Easy to Do Business
with David Avrin
Why do customers leave—even when they say they’re satisfied?
Here’s the uncomfortable truth: satisfaction isn’t loyalty. And in today’s marketplace, frustration isn’t a surprise anymore… it’s expected.
In this episode of Experience Leadership, I sit down with globally recognized customer experience expert David Avrin, author of Ridiculously Easy to Do Business With, to tackle one of the biggest and most expensive problems organizations face: built-in friction.
Policies. Procedures. Silos. “That’s just how we do it.”
All of it adds up to customer frustration—and your customers are reacting.
David shares powerful research from 2026, revealing that when customers encounter friction, only 14% do nothing. The other 86% take action—and most of that action hurts your business. They leave. They tell others. They disengage.
We unpack:
• Why customer satisfaction is no longer a reliable predictor of loyalty
• Why customers now give only one or two chances
• Why your most dangerous customers rarely complain
• And how to use behavioural research to predict what frustrated customers will actually do
If you want to attract, retain, and protect your customers in a market where switching is easy and patience is thin, this conversation is your wake-up call.

How Leaders Accidentally Become the Bottleneck
with Brad Poulos
Most business owners are exhausted—not because they’re lazy, but because they’re trying to carry a business that was never designed to support them.
In this episode of Marc Haine Live, Canada’s Small Business Professor Brad Poulos explains why many of the problems owners obsess over aren’t real problems at all—and why stepping back can sometimes be the most profitable move you make.
You’ll learn:
• Why most businesses fail from small mistakes, not big ones
• How decision overload destroys scale and cash flow
• When growth is actually the wrong goal
• Why letting go is a leadership skill—not a risk
This episode is a must-watch for founders, operators, and managers who want a business that works for them—not one they constantly rescue.

Leadership Behaviour That Builds—or Breaks—Momentum with Dr. Scott Hutcheson

The Hidden Signals That Shape Leadership Impact
with Dr. Scott Hutcheson
Most leaders think their impact comes from intelligence, experience, or authority.
And that belief is quietly costing them trust, momentum, and results.
In this episode of Marc Haine Live, I’m joined by Dr. Scott Hutcheson, professor and author of Biohacking Leadership, to challenge one of leadership’s most dangerous myths: that good intentions equal positive impact.
Scott explains why leadership impact is shaped less by strategy and more by the biological and behavioural signals leaders send every single day—often without realizing it. When those signals create stress, uncertainty, or inconsistency, even highly competent leaders see their impact stall or backfire.
In this conversation, we unpack:
- What leadership impact really is (and why most leaders misunderstand it)
- Why small, repeatable behaviours matter more than charisma or expertise
- How inconsistency quietly erodes trust—even when decisions are “right”
- Practical ways to increase impact without working harder or saying more
If you’ve ever thought, “I don’t get it—I’m doing everything right,” this episode might explain exactly what’s happening.

Dr. Scott Hutcheson is a professor, author, and practitioner whose work focuses on leadership, team, and organizational performance through the biology of behaviour. He’s worked with over 4000 leaders from 147 different countries.
